Our story

The history of CAMARB – Chamber of Business Mediation and Arbitration – Brazil is intertwined with the history of arbitration in Brazil, rejuvenated by the enactment of the Brazilian Arbitration Law – Federal Law No. 9.307 – in 1996, which opened up new horizons for its development, both domestically and internationally.

CAMARB was founded in 1998, under the name of Arbitration Chamber of Minas Gerais, initially linked to the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG).

Two years later, with the support of FIEMG, other business and academic entities, such as the Institute of Lawyers of Minas Gerais (IAMG), the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-Minas), the Heavy Construction Industry Union in the State of Minas Gerais (SICEPOT-MG) and the Brazilian Rural Society (SRB), CAMARB became an association with autonomy and functional independence.

Over the last few years, CAMARB has managed a series of procedures, with recognized experience and quality, and is currently positioned among the three main Dispute Resolution Chambers in the country, always maintaining a high level of satisfaction among its users and becoming a reference in Brazil in this segment.

Furthermore, CAMARB is one of the main institutions that works to promote and disseminate appropriate means of conflict resolution in the country, by promoting events, articles and seminars and, mainly, by holding the Brazilian Business Arbitration and Mediation Competition, one of the largest and most prestigious events in this segment.
