Lawyer, consultant, and legal advisor. Partner at Batista Martins Advogados. Author of four books and numerous articles on arbitration, Commentaries on the Civil Code – chapter on Credit Instruments, and numerous articles on other legal topics. Co-author of the Brazilian Arbitration Law. He holds a postgraduate degree in Business Law from the Institute of Economic Law Studies and a doctorate in Commercial Law from the Universidad San Pablo – CEU – Madrid. He was a professor of commercial, corporate, and arbitration law. He served two terms as a member of the Taxpayers' Council of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, was a member of the board of Telos – Embratel Social Security Foundation, and chaired the Board of Trustees of the Embratel 4 Institute.
